Spring Onions contain allyl propyl disulphide, which has been shown to lower blood sugar level and increase the tolerance to glucose. So it is beneficial for Diabetics patient to decrease the blood sugar.

The sulfur compounds in onions can lower blood pressure and reduce risk factors for coronary heart disease including platelet aggregation and oxidation of cholesterol.

Reduce the risk of developing cancers.

Spring onions contain a substance called quercitin, which is used against tumors. That's why eating them regularly reduces the risk for several types of cancer, in particular colon cancer.

The quercitin and vitamin C in onions work synergistically to kill harmful bacteria, making them an excellent remedy for cold and flu sufferers or those staving off digestive discomforts.
