Grapefruit

Grapefruit is a large subtropical citrus fruit which is slightly bitter and sour taste.Grapefruit is an excellent source of vitamin C, a vitamin that helps to support the immune system. It's full with the benefits of nutrients, vitamins, potassium, lycopene and refrigerant.

The rich pink and red colors of grapefruit are due to lycopene, acarotenoid phytonutrient. Lycopene appears to have anti-tumor activity. Among the common dietary carotenoids, lycopene has the highest capacity to help fight oxygen free radicals, which are compounds that can damage cells.


The antioxidants found in grapefruit are effective in reducing cholesterol levels. This fruit has a fat-burning enzyme and can help to absorb and reduce the starch and sugar in the body. It is widely consumed by people who are trying to lose weight.


Grape fruit increases the metabolic rate, lower the insulin levels and thus, gives you a feeling of completeness and contentment. It assists human body to fight against various diseases like fatigue, fever, malaria, diabetes, constipation, indigestion, urinary problems, acidity and many more. 


Grapefruits are usually eaten fresh by slicing the fruit horizontally and scooping out sections of the halves with a spoon.
